At approximately 11:22a.m. on November 27, 2024 a Nolinor Aviation Beoing 737-400 flight NRL 662 with 87 passengers and 7 crew members took off from Quebec to Wabush airport in Newfoundland and Labrador with a stop in Saguenay-Bagotville Airport when the crew encountered a technical issues on the way to Saguenay. The Pan Pan call by the flight crew had the plane divert to Mirabel. Mirabel control tower was not informed of the Pan Pan from the Bagotville controller.
The flight crew indicated that they had a flap issue, the Mirabel controller asked if the pilots required emergency responders to attend for with the pilots indicated it would not be necessary. The aircraft upon touch down and it's mail left landing gear fail, which upon landing at high speed caused the left engine to drag along the runway.
Mayday! Mayday! Mayday! was then declared by one of the pilots at which point the Air Traffic Controller had emergency vehicles rolling to the scene. There was no fire however there was smoke which quickly dissipated.
The passengers and crew were quickly evacuated using the emergency slides. Thankfully there were no injuries; the aircraft on the other hand sustained significant damage. The TSB is now investigating.
