On September 24, 2022 a West Atlantic 737 cargo aircraft, flight SWN5745 had departed Charles de Gaulle Airport at 2:50a.m. overshot the runway at Montpellier Airport in Southern France and ended with the front of the aircraft partially submerged in a nearby lake. The 3 crew members on board had evacuated without injury.
Airport operations were suspended as investigators and recovery crew were working.
